Activities

Explore the many ways to connect and engage through Beacon United Church's activities. From community events and support groups to educational programs, there’s something for everyone to grow, learn, and build meaningful connections.

Worship
Services

Beacon United offers in-person worship on Sunday mornings (11:00 from September to May, and 10:00 from June to August). Greeters will welcome you at the door and guide you into the sanctuary. Music is varied, and the sermons address how to live a faith-filled life while addressing the issues of our time.

We also live-stream our services on Beacon's Facebook page.

Beacon Councils & Committees

Church Council - Teams & Committees

Our Church Council is the governing body of Beacon United Church. It includes three teams:

  • The Faith Formation Team oversees worship and Christian education activities.

  • The Church & Community Team provides outreach to our local community and beyond. The Community Suppers, Community Garden, and Pastoral Care Committees are sub-committees of this team.

  • The Stewardship Team, which looks after our resources - property and finance. The Ways & Means Committee is a sub-committee that looks after fundraising.

Other committees under the Church Council include the Trustees, the Ministry & Personnel Committee and the Affirm Committee.

Community
Garden

The community garden began in 2012 and has grown each year to meet increasing local demand. It provides space for gardening, featuring raised beds, fruit trees, and a composting program.

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with others, enjoy the outdoors, and contribute to sustainable gardening practices. Come and see how you can get involved!

Beacon Community Suppers

Community
Suppers

Every third Sunday of the month, from September to June, Beacon United Church hosts a free Community Supper. The doors are open from 4 to 5:30, and all meals include dessert, coffee, tea, juice and water.

This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a warm meal, connect with others, and share in fellowship. Bring a friend and join us!
